Every month, we highlight outstanding performances by our salespeople. This time, we talk to Cainan Devliegere, who was salesman of the months of November and December. We asked him some questions to get an insight into his strategies, experiences and what influences his success.

Cainan, what specific strategies or approaches have you adopted to excel in your sales performance this month?

What I mainly focus on is being present to help people. I aim to make the customer feel confident within the first 5 minutes.

What role does GR Solutions play in improving your skills and performance as a salesperson?

To be honest, GRS played a big role from the beginning in making me better as a salesperson. I started from 0 so there was no foundation.

What advice do you give to other salespeople who want to improve their performance and also become "Salesperson of the Month"?

Try to find a good click with the client. Tell yourself every day that you need to perform and that your counter is still at 0 for that month's numbers. 

What was your turnover figure for the month?

How did being recognised as "Vendor of the Month" motivate you to go even further next month?

It motivated me to become day by day, more and more the winner I had been looking for in myself for a while. Always stay humble to keep growing. 

How did you find a balance between addressing customer needs and achieving your sales goals?

I never go in with the intention of boosting my sales figures, but mainly with the listening ear to help the customer first and see what they effectively need. The numbers then follow naturally. 

What aspects of GRS training did you find most valuable in your growth as a salesperson? 

The training we have been able to experience thanks to Gilles and through communication training by speaking in front of the entire team during our Monday morning meetings.

Can you share a moment when your approach as a salesperson had a positive impact on a customer? And how did that inspire you?

I was allowed to help and guide a client from A to Z, as it should be, after they had been swindled out of a large sum of money in the past. The respect and appreciation afterwards was so great that now, four months later, I can still visit those people for coffee and a piece of cake, which is super.
